Access to Vivacell mobile network has been activated in Yei River County after nearly two weeks of shutdown.
Vivacell’s main antenna in Lainya County went off-air over lack of fuel. However, a government official in Yei town says they have secured some fuel to maintain the network provider and the Yei Electric Cooperative (YECO).
Residents in Yei could be seen busy on mobile phones accessing their families and colleagues.
“Am happy after staying for long without accessing my relatives. As you can see the network is now on and we hope that it will not go off again,” said one telephone user.
YECO which announced its closure last weekend could be seen supplying electricity in the town.
